Knock sensor

I recently noticed that my knock sensor is broken off. Can anyone tell me what effects this will have on my vehicle. It is acting a lttle strange at idle, partial throttle, and costant throttle, but WOT it seems fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Doug

Buddy of mine had a late 80's Suburban with a bad knock sensor. SES light was always on after start up check. I forget the code, 43 maybe??....but once we fixed it he noticed no difference in how it ran.

One thing is without it, you will not be protected for timing retard if needed, but I don't think your problems are related to it, but again, I'm basing my thoughts on what we experienced. Best bet is to first R&R the KS and go from there.

It will just pull a bunch of timing out to prevent any detonation, since it can't sense it.
