torque specs
can someone please give me the torque specs for the rocker arm studs and valve cover bolts for a 91 RS 305 please?

im getting some conflicting answers. i have also been told 20ft/lbs. does anyone know for sure?

because obviuosly i dont have one and i needed the answer, thanks for all your help ede. with as many posts as you have, you would think that you would know that the purpose of these boards is to help people, not to call them dumbasses.

All this time I thought it was here to expand knowledge beyond what was in the manuals.

look guys, i wasnt looking for any attitude just an answer to a quick question. if you dont want to help, then dont. its plain and simple. as far as me only registering "2months ago" so what. it doesnt take a genious to figure out the purpose of these boards. dont cut others down. i ask a question and im getting treated as if i asked how to install a wing on a honda or something. so no matter what the question, we should all come together and pull our varing levels of experience to come up with an answer for someone if we can, because thats what thirdgen owners do. so thank you to those who were able to help me out.

ede admittedly laid out a Wild Assed Guess, Cali replied with one out of the book, you replied you were confused because of the apparently varied answers (you should read more carefully), ede responded more or less 'why listen to a dumbass like me, get a book' (which ede calls himself ALL the time), Cali took it the wrong way (as his his wont on occasion) and Kev tried to point out that you are preaching about the boards as though you've been around since inception (which you haven't). You then get back on the pedestal and preach some more (to a member who has been here roughly around the current inception) ignorantly thinking it's going to make some sort of difference, and I just clarified the whole bloody thing for everyone.
So... boiled down, just take Cali's numbers and get off the soapbox. As I've mentioned before... Public Forum=Anyone can answer, you don't own the board, post, thread, etc. www.Thirdgen.org does, that's just the way it is.

i guess i got told then. apparently no one feels the same as i do about the site. thats cool. no i havent been around since day 1 of the boards, so sue me. i was 7 years old when the last thirdgen rolled off the assembly line. so what if im a little new school. thats fine with me; i just love these beautiful cars. i also dont have time to keep defending myself on the issue, due to the fact that im in the military and actually work for a living. so you guys were right and i was wrong, so lets just stop going back and forth on the whole thing, since i got the answer i was looking for, and the post no longer has anything to do with someone needing torque specs for rockers.

A '91 RS 305 would have press-in rocker studs, therefore there is no torque requirement for them. The rocker arms themselves are adjusted via self-locking hexnuts, if you are asking what is the required running torque for those nuts, I've never seen it specified. But, like ede said, you don't torque down the rocker arms.
