Kind of a dumb question but did you at least to a half *** tune-up on the car?

Is your EGR valve working ok????? If not replace it. 9 out of 10 times it's the EGR valve. or it could be the o2 senser. My best bet though would be the EGR valve.

I dont get exactly why they said your hc's failed. If your at 33 thats less than 100. Which is good. Maybe its 133?

In either case Id say your cats not working properly. Theres plenty of oxygen for the hc's and co to react with in the cat, but it seems that thats not happening.

Try ohming out the injectors to see if they are leaking.

Could also have one struggling to move any fuel.

Lean misfire will put fuel in the exhuast as well as easily as a driping injector.

Might prove wise to make sure everything ignition wise is ok and all vacuum lines are good as well.

later
