Ok this makes absolutely no sense. My car, ever since i bought it (2/24/01), would throw a SES after about 10 minutes of driving, and did so trouble free for 9 months. Around august, it started loosing top end (3000 RPM+ for this engine) power like crazy, its like somone hit a switch. It seriously, floored on a flat open road, would not top 3000 RPMs while pushing the car in 3rd and was took forever to rev high enough past that to shift into the next gear so I would have to pedal it to upshift.
(see loss of top end post from about 2 weeks ago) Replaced cap rotor plugs wires and o2 sensor, didn't make a damn bit of difference. So i got to thinking, under members advice, valvesprings are shot and valves are floating.

Saturday: sitting at a stoplight and out of the blue, it just dies. All vital signs were good. Granted it does kinda die sometimes when you first start it unless you mash the gas, but never just while your stopped.

Today: did some "testing" and HELLO! For some crazy assed reason, it has been running amazing ever since. Its pulling clear to 4500 RPMs now! I haven't touched a THING since the ignition stuff and 02 sensor 3 weeks ago! Its not gas, its not air temps, its not engine temps cause i've run it at all different temps.

Now I'm not complaining here at all, but what the hell happened? Could i maybe had a slightly clogged cat and blew it out? Sticking EGR? Computer SNAFU? I'm totally confused, but quite happy!

Any ideas as to what happened?
