Scanner Purchased
So guess what, I finally got so pissed I bought a scanner.
Now before all of you guys reply with "OH MY *** JUST BUY THE LAPTOP AND GET THE SOFTWARE FOR FREE ITS SO MUCH BETTER", save the strain on your fingers/hands because I already did a search and you told just about everyone to do that.
Since it will be a LONG time before any heavy engine modification is done, I won't need to do any PROM chip burning or whatever the hell that stuff is. Plus I leave for real 4 year college in about a year in a half after my junior college general education is finished, and at that time I plan on buying a really nice high quality laptop for myself. So I might as well just wait till then to get into the free software diagnostic/prom burn stuff, and use a handy handheld scanner to diagnose my car's problems for now.
Again, I just want to be able to diagnose and fix my own ECM/Sensor/etc problems on my own, without having to haul it into a garage somewhere and pay 100$/hr. I've been having problems I cannot fix for quite some time now. So the main question would be does this have everything I need to do that.
So, with that disclaimer out of the way, let me fill you guys in on which one I got.
There was only ONE brand of scanner there, the Auto X-Ray brand, and I selected the one that fit my car, which is the EZ-SCAN 3000.
I haven't opened it yet, so if it ends up not being a good scanner, based on your guys' comments, i can still return it. Once I open it, it's nonreturnable. Do not base your opinions on this scanner from your opinions about liking laptop + software better than scanner. Just evaluate the scanner by itself, and give me personal experience and or second hand stories.

I think youll find that this tool (above) is a far better value as it covers more cars and comes with a cd to upload to your laptop that allows you to print out the results and watch real time data changes
but if you must buy that tool (save a few bucks)
