I currently have an 84 block 383 chevy that im building and lookin to make 450 hp.
This is goin in my 83 camaro for street and occasional strip.
Also have T56 6 speed and 4.10 posi gears
Heres the parts i have collected:
Eagle Balanced Rotating assembly
Eagle Forged 3.750 Crank
Eagle 6.0 Forged Rods
Je/Srp Flat -5cc Pistons Forged .030 over
Dart Iron Eagle 215cc heads with 72cc chambers
Compression with .040 gasket around 9.7? Is the right?
Manley Street Flo valves 2.05/1.60
Comp Cam Extreme Engery Hydraulic Roller 288HR
2500-6000 rpm 236/242 @ .050 .520/.540 lift with 1.5 110 Lobe sep.
Comp Magnum Roller rocker 1.6
Comp Time chain & pushrods
Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake
Holley Street Advenger 670 carb Vacuum secondarys
MSD Pro Billet Distributor vacuum advance

Could someone give me an estimate on hp with this setup??
Should i change my carb to the 770 Street advenger or go to a 4150 DP?
Should i change my msd to a mechanical advance??

Have a very similar motor in my friend's 72 Chevelle. Differences are that he uses a solid flat tappet cam (Comp 282S), a single plane intake and the slightly smaller 200cc intake version of those same heads. He cranks out bottom 12s @ 113+ in his pig-heavy Chevelle. That's an honest 450HP in my book.
I think yours will make more power than his with your roller cam. So, yes, 450+HP is very achievable in my opinion.
I would recommend a larger carb, especially if you're going with vacuum secondaries. It's just about impossible to over-carb with vacuum secondaries. Make sure you have a good set of headers and good flowing exhaust to round out the combo. The carb on my friend's Chevelle is an 800 CFM double pumper we picked up at a swap meet for $25- rebuilt and tuned by yours truly. It's a bit over overkill, but it was a hard deal to pass up so that's what we used.
I'd run a vacuum advance distributor if you plan to street drive it regularly. We run a vacuum advance MSD Pro Billet in my friend's Chevelle- works extremely well on the street keeping the plugs from fouling out PLUS it idles smoother and runs quieter and cooler at cruise with the extra advance kicking in.
Your compression should be somewhere in the high 9s. Really depends how much (if any) you plan on decking the block. If you're not going to deck it at all (pistons sitting at a stock .025" in the hole) then you might look into a thinner head gasket. The GMPP .028" composite head gasket, for instance, is thinner and works extremely well- I've used them several times now myself. And the price is right at only $35 a set.

450hp easy.. go DP carb.. a 750 should be fine.. the distributor you have.. does it have a mechanical advance in it?? i have a vacuum advance msd distributor but dont use the vacuum line.. oh ya, i swapped the springs inside the rotor, for the soft ones to give me mechanical advance instead of vacuum.. you should open up the ring gaps and put a 150 shot on there..

thats the exact same distributor i have.. i just dont use the vacuum advance.. and for the carb, i run a mighty demon 750 DP with a 5spd.. good piece once you get it tuned.. but not recommended by most (quality has faded over the years).. i see that its gonna be mostly a streetcar, so that street avenger looks alright.. but i must admit, a DP is "the" performance carb..

Your combination sounds pretty good. I would recommend a 750DP carb though unless you are concerned with fuel economy. I'm sure you will get into the 12's with that combo with decent traction but I'm sure the DP carb would be worth a few extra tenths over a VS carb. I ran mid 11's with a similar combo that used to be in my car 10:1 383, mildly ported dart Pro 1 215cc heads, hyd roller 242/248@.05 .540/.560lift, RPM air gap, Hedman LT's, 750dp carb.

I would try around 20-22initial 36 total for a starting point. You will have to experiment and see what works best for your particular combo. With my old combo I removed the vacuum advance and used only the mechanical advance, with my current combo my timing is locked down at 38 degrees.
If you have the money I would get those heads ported, they respond very well to porting. Thats another way to squeeze get some more power out of the combo without sacrificing drivabilty or fuel economy.

What would gas milage be with a 750 DP vs a 770 VS???
I plan on driving this thing qiute a bit in the summer and couldnt stand the thought of leaving it in the garage do to no money for gas???
What the most compression you can run on pump?? I only have 91 or 92 here where i live?? What about the most compression on 87 crap gas??

That's similar to the setup I put together for a customers Nova. Bigger cam though and more compression. It runs 10.80's in a 2800# Nova. Your setup should get you in the 11's if the car is setup right
