Engine was running fine then next time I started it the engine light came on with a code 12. It will not run past idle now. It has no power and stalls.
I checked all the wires from the distributor for continuity all good.
I replaced the ICM still no change.
Any Ideas?

 

It will always have a code 12, it's just the indicator that the computer's working. Were there any other codes? It will blink 12 three times, blink the codes, then blink 12 three times again.

 

The code 12 stays on after engine starts which the book says is a distributor not sending info back to ECM. How do you fix it?

 

You can't blink the codes with the engine running.

If you did check with the engine off, and you are getting code 12, it could be an actual distributor problem (this is the annoying thing about it blinking code 12 when fine). If you've already checked the continuity of the wires and replaced the ICM, make sure that the pickup coil is in good condition and that the pigtail from the pickup coil is plugged in and the wires are in good condition.
