1986 TA
I am about to buy a 1986 TA, I went out to the guys house to start it up and nothing put a battery in it out of my dads 85 TA and it cranked up fine but no spark, this car is cherry and I want it really bad, but I want to drive it first before I make any decisions. My question to you all is where should I start, coil? Checked the CPU codes and read a 12 code. (NORMAL) Checked all the fuses and all was good. Any ideas yall? Really need help.

Re: 1986 TA
did you actually pull a plug and check for a spark or is it just not firing when you crank it?

Re: 1986 TA
this is the best situation to be in... if the body is worth buying by it self without an engine what ever you do DONT fix it before you buy it... did that last year beautiful car with air brushed hood ZERO body rot/damage... wouldnt start the guy wanted 750 for it...figured out he didnt have spark fixed the wires that werent crimped real professional figured i would come back the nextday and get plates but only now the price had jumped to 4500 cause it runs like new....
DONT fix it ....yet

Re: 1986 TA
Well I know the guy really well and he wants me to trade my four wheeler for the car. I dont ever ride the dang thing any more so might as well. But I did tell him that if I could not get it running I wasnt going to trade him. My dads 85 TA has a cracked head so I took off some of the ignition parts to try on the 86. Going to go in the morning to try to get it to run if not oh well his lose I guess.
