| Fuel Pump HELP! lol.
My 91 RS (5.0L, 700R4) wont start. Heres the story.
2 nights ago, my car worked great. I parked it for the night, and the next morning, it wouldnt start. I went through all the things I could think of. Checking battery, gas level, etc. I ended up walking around the rest of the day seeing as my car was out of service.
I tried starting it one last time around 6 that night, and it started up fine...
I went to Hudson (local town, half hour away) and it drove there fine. I parked it, then went with my girlfriend in her car. At around 11pm when we came back to my car, it started up fine, although it ran kinda bad (RPMs very low -around 400-, gas wasnt responsive, and it would jerk a lot. I needed to stop and get gas, and I did. After puting gas in, it started up fine again, and drove fine all the way home. I figured the problem was just bad gas, and that it was fixed now.
I was wrong.
This morning, it wouldnt start up again. I got it going a few times today, but I THINK the problem is the fuel pump. When you turn the key, you dont hear that vibrating/buzzing noise of the fuel pump. When I DO hear that, I know it will start. But 95% of the time, that sound wont happen, and the car wont start.
Im not sure if this has anything to do with it, but when I take the gas cap off, there is a hissing noise of pressure. Quite a bit of pressure. I took the gas caps off of all the cars in my household, and none of them have that noise. I thought it was normal, but maybe not. Or maybe its just cause my car is older. Also, maybe this is totally irrelevent to my car not starting problem, and I shouldnt worry about it.
But the fact of the matter is, my car wont start. And im not getting that sound that I used to hear every time the key was turned.
If anyone knows how to fix this problem, or has had the problem, or anything similar to this, please help out here. Thanks in advance. | | | |
