Re: Egr valve. Please help

Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, in short, exhaust runs by it, or through it rather, and then it pumps some of that back to your intake for a "cleaner" combustion, so its taking some exhaust that still has "combustible qualities" and pushes it back through your motor again, did they tell your the diaphram is shot? thats normally what breaks. They're not TOO terribly expensive, like in the $100 range, if you dont replace it your car wont run properly for very much longer and you wont pass emissions, i say bite the bullet on the price and just do it, if you search EGR replacement im sure youll dig up something i changed it on my TBI an it was a breeze, never attempted a tpi tho

Good luck
