EGR solenoid question.
Hey guys I'm getting a code 32 for my EGR system and all the symptoms are there. Doesn't seem to be the valve or a vacuum leak, and my solenoid clicks when I put current through it and redirects the air like I think it should, but before I start ripping apart my intake manifold I have question about the solenoid in case mine is hooked up wrong or something.
Okay, on one side there is the two vacuum lines coming from it, one going to the valve and one to the plenum. On the other side, there is the electrical connection and a port that opens when current is put through it. The port that is open, by the electrical connection, should there be anything hooked up to it or is just left by itself with to suck in open air to supply vacuum or something? It seems like something ought to be hooked up to it, but on my car nothing is. Just some prong looking doohickey (for lack of a better word) is there. I just need someone with a tpi car to pop the hood and look. Thanks.

Re: EGR solenoid question.
There should be a little filter on that port with the prong doohickey. No vacuum lines are attached to it.

Re: EGR solenoid question.
Well snap I guess I'm taking my intake manifold apart. Thanks for the info.

Re: EGR solenoid question.
A little foam filter "should" be there but the car will run fine without it. Can you take a guess at how many of our cars still have that filter? Mine disappeared years ago.
