knock sensor???

hey guys, i'm having trouble identifying a sensor on my engine; it's an 88 iroc z 305 tpi. the sensor i'm trying to identify is on the front of the engine just to the left of the temp sensor. i'm pulling apart my intake manifold and in the process the sensor just came apart (literally). i'm assuming it a knock sensor? obviously i need to get a new one so if anyone knows what it is please let me know. i know pics would be really helpful on this but unfortunatly the car isn't at my house so i can't readily take pics.

Re: knock sensor???

Is the sensor mounted to your intake manifold or the block?
