hi all

ok i would like to swap my tpi to a carb on 86 305 tpi that i have now in my 64 el camino.i am having way to many issues with this tpi . i need help .what intake manifold do i use .i know i have to use a pre ECM hei distributor and i all ready have a quadrajunk from my last hot rod i bulit till i an get a holly.see this 305 tpi is in my 64 el camino and the motor is only got 20 k on the motor and can not afford to get a nother motor.if any one has a link or info to HELP ME PLEASE respond A.S.A.P.And after i do the swap the whole set up will be for sale on this site.
It will include the manifold,plenum,runners ,fuel rail, injectors,new fuel regulator ,as well as the wiring for the injectors ,the wiring harness is a Ron Francis wiring harness with the ECM ,This is a map not maf set up, the instructions from ron francis how to wire it all up.

You have it.
Just bolt on a regular intake of your choice with a carb and a regular HEI dist.
Hot wire (pink?) direct to coil terminal on dist
Rework fuel line to suit carb inlet

What problems are you having with the fuel injection?

As for the carb swap. Probably a standard edelbrock performer spreadbore would work fine with the stock TPI engine + q-jet. I recall the performer being very good for low RPM torque with my old TBI setup. Theyre available at just about every autoparts store.

Edit: you will also need a 3-way bypass type regulator with the EFI fuel pump. Dont dead-head it, it will kill the pump in short order. The only other option is to switch back to a mechanical pump and standard in-tank pickup.
