Re: i need some help

you do the heads also? I would say no about priming. The bearings will have a coating, as well as the cam and lifters be pumped up. No worries. What year is the car, and year for the engine?

Oops 92 RS got it. Well your cooling fan won't turn on, unless it's been bypassed. Sounds like you have omitted the electric fuel stuff too yes?

Re: i need some help

EVERYTHING will function as normal without the computer - the fan, the fuel pump, everything except the torque converter lockup on the 700R4.

I'm assuming it's been swapped to carb and thus no more computer. Fuel pump will not prime, but doesn't need to with a carb, as there is plenty of fuel in the carb bowls to start and run the car until oil pressure is built up enough for the oil pressure sending unit to power the pump.

Computer doesn't control the fan, the fan switch in the pass head controls the fan.

If swapped to carb, you need to make sure you have the proper geometry corrector on the carb linkage for the TV cable - otherwise you greatly risk frying the 700R4.

Re: i need some help

And you got a return style fuel pressure regulator right? Can you hear the fuel pump running with the key on?

Re: i need some help

OK - run 12 to the fuel pump and see if it runs then - then you'll know if it's a bad pump. Since your relay has been screwed with and we don't know exactly how, I'd go under the car, remove the plug from the Oil Pressure Sending Unit (just above the oil filter), and cut the two larger wires from it (with enough room to reconnect of course), and touch them together. This will make the pump run if it's working - key does not have to be on for this. And make sure the fuse tucked in the fenderwell beside the battery is good.
