V6 to V8 ?s
Ok I will be getting a 82 its a V6 with a 4 speed. I would like to know if I could just drop the V8 in with the trans and everything else. I would like to know everything I would need to do the swap. I plan on a carbed V8 since its already a 2bbl V6. If I cant keep the 4 speed in it what would you suggest for the trans. I am not looking to spend a bunch of money I am looking to make it a driver. Any help is welcome.

Re: V6 to V8 ?s
A V6 transmission doesn't bolt to a V8 without a bunch of work that's not worth the trouble. A thirdgen V8 T5 setup will go in the easiest, you'll need to get the hydraulics and pedals with it.

Re: V6 to V8 ?s
I did!!!!!! I had the option to buy a rs with a 3.4v6 and was ready to do the deal until I found out that by the time I got:
a v8 wire harness,
changed the ECM,
redid the motor mounts,
bought or scrounged around and found all the sensors
and everything for gauges,
not to mention the tranny (one for a 350) no sense going to one that can't handle at least that.
Then redid the rearend.
drive shaft.
That I would have much more than the cost of the RS I that I did buy with a 700r4 and a 305v8 nothing wrong with it and I got it for $600. needed a little love and care and a tranny and I went back with a 700r for $450.
