Shaky, shaky...

When I am on the highway, my car really starts to shake around 75-80 mph. The mirrors start to shake really bad, and I can really feel it quivering. However, it doesn't do it when the t-tops are out. And suggestions to get it to stop?

Re: Shaky, shaky...

I was going to say maybe tires need to be balanced, but you say it doesn't do it when t-tops are out. Very weird, first I heard of that.

Re: Shaky, shaky...

I still would check the tires. Maybe somehow the resonating vibration of the tires is canceled out with the tops off????? Curious to know what it'll be if not tires...

Re: Shaky, shaky...

If you've got a vibration it means something is moving. The T-top removal affecting it is slightly odd but it's maybe just changing when and where the effects of the vibration show up. Check wheel bearings, alignment, bushings etc. How about with the tops on but windows open?

Re: Shaky, shaky...

was it shaking before you got the new tires? if not then that would be the problem . I got tires at pepboys years back and while watching the guy put them on i noticed he didn't balance 2 of the 4 tires if i didn't catch it it would of vibrated like hell .
