355 engine

i locked up my old engine and rebuild shop said they could give me a 355 longblock that is a rebuilt 350 what do u guys think about power...........

It'll have some power. How much? Who knows, there are a lot of variables that are not covered. What heads, cam, intake? You could ask what it is a replacement motor for (probably a TBI truck motor, LO5), and that would give you a better idea of what it should make.

yup pretty much agree. an overbore doesnt do much power wise. its all in heads, cam, compression. Now if you said it had 11:1 with 230 cc heads, and a .590 lift mechanical roller cam, and a forged rotating assembly with a 750 CFM double pumper holley. Id say you'd have a nice motor with about 500 horses. But we dont know.
