Replaced fuel pump, now wont run right?
So i have a 1989 trans am, 305 tpi.
Had my fuel pump go out on me, so i went through and replaced it.
car ran fine, a little boggy, because of the pump going out, after i replaced it, the car will start, but will die off when i give it gas, if i kind of tap the gas a few times, and hold down on it slowly, it will rev up, but any sudden gas will kill the car.
fuel pump was brought back and exchanged for another, same problem.
fuel filter has been replaced.
one thing i have noticed is that when i would turn the key on in the car before, i would hear a kind of buzz from the front/engine, kind of like the pump turning on, but i no longer hear it. ive looked to see if maybe the previous owner has installed an electric pump but i dont see anything. anyone have any ideas? help would be greatly appreciated as i am at a loss.

Check your fuel pressure. It could be a problem with your fuel pressure regulator.

If you don't hear the fuel pump priming anymore, might be a fuel pump relay issue.

Might also try disconnecting battery for 5 minutes to reset computer - it knows when a fuel pump goes (there's a code for it), and thus it may not know you replaced the pump without having cleared the memory.
(This is a longshot, but it was a thought anyway).
