Alright guys. This is my dilemma. I'm installing a T-56 with spec 3 clutch & Fidanza flywheel into the IROC. I previously test drove this clutch in another car before purchase and immediately noticed that the release point was very close to the top. Practically no downward pedal travel in order to engage it. I am much more familiar and comfortable with having a release point that is a couple of inches off the floor, so I am endeavouring to find out how to do this. Given that it is a hydraulic clutch, it has been suggested to me that I shim the slave cylinder or install a more powerful master. Shimming the slave sounds like the way to go. So my question to you is: What is the best way to go about this? Is it even a reasonable or achievable idea? I've very quickly drawn a sketch of what I'm attempting to do. Apologies for the poor picture quality, but you get the idea..

Hey bud thanks for the reply. That looked perfect until I saw that it was for transmissions with an internal slave, whereas mine is external. Do they make one of these for the LT1 T56 with external slave?

The only question I have is in the description where it's talking about a transmission spacer. This can't be that uncommon of a problem. It's an LT1 T-56 with external slave mating up to a SBC and I need a way to adjust the clutch release point. Dammit all.

The link I showed you is for a fluid control valve. It goes between the master cylinder and the slave cylinder and controls how far the slave moves. It shouldnt matter if its internal or external slave they both actuate the pressure plate. I personally think you'll be fine using that valve with your external slave.
