92 to 93 305tbi differences, need help
Hi guys, I 'm putting a motor in my 92 rs and need some help. I found a beautiful running 305 tbi in a 93 gmc 1500 and noticed and read about some differences and need some help on if it will drop right in. I read the intake manifolds on 93's are slightly different as the distributor base is larger than my 92 was. Going along with that, the 93 has the throttle body with the 2 air cleaner studs. I've read this stuff isn't interchangeable. I'm figuring using the 93 distributor won't be an issue, correct me if I'm wrong. But will the 92 throttle body on the 93 intake with the 93 distributor be ok? From what I've read it appears as the 93 dist and 93 throttle body go hand in hand and can't be mismatched. I don't know how correct this is, this is my first motor swap with tbi motors. And to answer the obvious question - we tried to modify my 92 intake to fit pre 87 heads and it didn't go well so my intake is basically useless. So I can't put it on the 93 and call it a day. With what they want for the engine, I also can't afford to buy a 92 intake. Please let me know if I can make this work with the parts I have.
