Need help to replace AFR #9050 valve guide

I need to buy a replacement valve guide, but I cannot find any information to cross reference AFR 9050. I even called AFR and they couldn't find this information for me... Anyone? They are the older (pre 2004) SBC 195's.

Re: Need help to replace AFR #9050 valve guide

Take it to a local machine shop (you'll need them to replace it for you anyway). They'll figure it out.

I also have a set of "earlier" AFR 190 heads (same as your 195s without the factory gasket match done to the port opening) and I needed to replace a guide when I blew a piston to smithereens at 6000 RPMs. WASTED the chamber, valves, seats, and one of the guides. Fortunately, aluminum heads are infinitely repairable, so I had it repaired. My machinist didn't even think to mention where he bought the replacement guide, but it was apparently "no big deal" or he would have remarked how difficult it was to source one.
