Oil leaking from cooling adapter when engine on?
Hi Guys,
Good thing I have the water hoses off the adapter above the oil filter.
It's been almost two years that I've been working on my twin turbo build and I idled for the first time today. Yes!
While idling I noticed that oil is pouring (a cup a minute?) out the outboard fitting of the oil cooling adapter. That means oil would be mixing with coolant if I had the hoses on. Shut the engine and leak stops.
I removed the oil filter which was tight and the adapter which was tight.
I cleaned the adapter, made sure the bolts that hold the plate in the block that the adapter screws into are tight.
I pressurised the outboard pipe and closed the inboard pipe and pressure held.
Reassembled everything and still leaked when the engine is on.
Only oil related thing I did was unplug the plug by the dist hole and T off with 4AN hose to each turbo.
There should be no way oil can get to the coolant via that adapter right?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Well I see there should be a gasket between the adapter and the block which I don't have and appeared not to be there from the factory.
But I don't see how that would allow oil to be coming from the pipe.

There should be no way for oil and water to mix there unless there is a crack, and it sounds as if there may be a crack opening/expanding under pressure.
