Did I hurt it?

After some racing the engine was it was running fine but some valvetrain ticking got louder so I decided to poke around under the hood. Sounds like all the ticking is coming from the top of #2 (using a stethoscope), but I also pulled the PCV to check for the "choo choo train" to make sure I didn't hurt it, well this video shows it better than you can see it IRL, but I do have some puffs coming out of the valve cover. In real life, with the best lighting, it looks like it's just some gas escaping, not as much puffing as it looks here, you honestly need to take a flashlight and shine it through it to see it:

Slightly longer version, I came across a guy in a kenny bell blown mustang and we made a few runs. This car still has a stock bottom end 305 (with almost 130K miles on it) in it but an LT1 top end with a victor jr converted to EFI, cam... and easily revs to 7000rpm. Hit #1 he barely edged me out, #2 and #3 I barely beat him. #3 I went sideways on a shift and bounced off the 7000rpm limiter 2x before I reined it back in. I know that a stock high mile bottom end isn't going to last long at those rpms so I was a bit worried when it sounded like my valvetrain got louder. I decided to do a little more checking when I noticed that I started forcing some oil out the driver's side valve cover (interestingly the push in filter and whole passenger side valve cover is dry)

Do a compression test and or leak down test.

Yea, I know that and you know that but I've left it sitting for 2weeks since it happened since I didn't have time to do it. Right now I'm thinking I haven't seen that much smoke out of a valve cover on something that wasn't hurt, but I can't remember the last time I checked on anything with this many miles on it, heck, I don't remember checking on anything within 50K miles of this.

LOL, this is probably the first time I missed being on MM, I think I posted a video of doing a compression test of the cylinder making the noise now back when I put this top end on the motor... I don't remember what it read but that would be a nice quick comparison.
