What obd1 scanner do you guys use?

I'm looking into a ses light and trying to get a scanner on the car. My father has a blue point obd2 scanner and when I bought the cable to go from a 2 to a 1 it wont scan. So I'm asking you guys, what do you personally use?

I'm trying to do something more than the paper clip method because with that all I get is code 12 and that's just telling me that there are no codes. (If that's the case whys the light on?)

AutoXray but no longer in production. I believe Acutron has something for OBD I. FreeSan, WINADL I beliveb are free but have never used them and you will need the correct cable to connect to USB late model PC laptop or RS232 for legacy laptops.

Good luck.

TunerPro (free software), and an ALDL cable from Moates.

Autoxray is good. Here's one Summit still has only $99. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/axy-ax2500/overview/
