Camaro_1986_19,
I have a tragic story about my moms old topaz xr5. She was kidnapped by some activists and forced to drive the quarter mile in it. There was a fireball released from the water box 16 seconds after she launched, it was moving 1000mph, so it would hit the end of the quarter mile marker almost immediately at 16 seconds. Well, my mom did her best, but she couldn't make that car run 15s. She is gone now, and I miss her
Damn the topaz for being so slow, damn it!

82' Crossfire Vette (last year of the C3) - only availible with an auto trans... 200hp, 1/4 mile in the mid/low 15s
84' Crossfire Vette (first year of the C4) - manual or auto... 205hp, 1/4 mile in the low 15s - high 14s
TPI was introduced in the Vette in 85'
and a topaz wouldnt be able to keep up with any of these cars

they make 200hp but go 15's ...??
and how many were maade ...(are they rare..)
personally ive not seen too many 80's-84's..
how hard is it to mod the CFI system??
BTW..why bother trying to compare a topaz to a vette..

well a friend of mine has an 81' Vette (L81 motor, 190hp) and that went 15.3 at 89mph bone stock with 59k miles. so i would assume a 82' Vette with 10 more hp could do a low 15 as well. alot of guys on Corvetteforum with 84s have dipped into the high 14s with their 84s bone stock.
im not sure how much they weigh, but i know the average C4 is 3200lbs or so.
you couldnt really call a Xfire Vette rare, i know they made just over 50,000 in 84, not sure of the 82s though. they only made that motor for those 2 years, so finding one may be kinda hard. neither is worth much compared to other models, however

You guys, Seriously, Until you grow ***** and get out of ur slow thirdgen's and drive an XR5, STFU and quit putting it down, I cut my insurance in half, I am saving alot of gas money and I have almost twice as much power then my little gay 2.8

ive not seen anyone trying to mod a topaz..its built for something else...daily driving ...and that only...
if u wanted cheaper insurance ..get a bike ..my bike insurance is a fraction of what i pay for the car...
plus..its much much faster...
lol...if u drive like john force on the street ..ur bound to break any car..doesnt matter what it is.....good luck with the XR5..im gonna see how long it lasts...its not gonna be long when u are gonna come back crying saying the gay XR5 broke...

It's not compared to other Tempo's and Topaz's that are normally high 17's to high 18's. And that time can beat some thirdgen's stock for stock. But seriously, I am unsubscribing from this thread, I ain't dealing with this crap

I know it's not exactly fast, It's quick for what it is, I know it can take stock V6 thirdgen's no prob at all cuz I took two well running 3.1's tonight no problem at all. Fast is a 2002 SS Camaro that runs high 12's to low 13's
