I like those RX-7's tho. i want one with an LS1 in it. That would move!! They are small cars.

No it won't, maybe at altitude, but probably not at sea level. They are pigs of cars and take a lot of horsepower to be fast. The Eclipse has more potential for speed. It takes a lot of HP just to get a VR-4 into the 12's.

Right, I ran one in my Iroc (TT stealth) and we were dead even all the way thru 5000rpms in 2nd gear when I couldnt engage 3rd. It fryed the clutches. I run 14.02 with the stall converter. This was before the stall converter and shift kit, but it was from a roll and i downshifted into first so rpms went up right away. Stall prolly wouldnt make difference, but shift kit might have helped alittle, but nothing major to cause me to pull like crazy.

I thought the VR4's were mid to high 13 second cars? They're pretty quick in a straight line, but that's about all they have going for them. I worked as a tech at a Mitsu. dealer for a year, and after that, you couldn't give me one of those pieces of crap. The Eclipses w/the the Mitsu. motor in them seem to hold up pretty well, but *** help the ones with the Chrysler motor.

Well....LS1 like my other buddy who can't drive I thought the later VR-4s were like mid to low 13sec cars. In any case, yes, a properly driven LS1 will beat it, but I didn't think it'd be too far apart.

The thing that hurt the VR-4s was the 3800lb+ curb weight. They could've dropped a bit of weight by getting rid of the AWS.

I also agree that it is hard to make 3si cars "fast". I told him that but he doens't seem to agree. I know they are decently quick from the factory, but I also know that they don't seem to respond all that well to mods (hmm, maybe fighting over 3800lbs plus driver is the problem with a V6?)..

They have great potential, don't get me wrong, they just don't have the aftermarket to make much use of it.

Haha silly kid, Ricers can't do donuts with their FWD!!!

Hey so are the third gens supposed to be the bottom of the heap in the domestic scene. cause y'all sure sound like it, comparing yourselves to hondas and all. I mean over in places like LS1-land, they never talk about hondas. Only threads I see there are "I raced an 800hp Supra but yet I smoked him" "I raced an 11 second evo" "I got the jump on 300zx but for some reason didn't pull on him and later found he had 500 hp" and the like. On the other hand you guys are all braggin about smoking a stupid civic.

I don't get why it's so cool to beat up on economy cars.

dont know how this one has kept going long enough to hit 2 pages but ohwell..LOL

you can do doughnuts in a FWD car all you have to do is put it in reverse.....LOL...

the reason they all like to beat up on economy cars is because most of them that are bragging about beating one are kids around 16-18 years old and thats cool to them ...LOL

ducking from the fire now!!!

Yeah my little brother asked me if I ever "put lunch trays on my rear wheels and slid around a parking lot for fun"

I was like...um...I think you need FWD to do that...

And then I beat his *** like big brothers tend to do.

Yeah, it's not that funny. They make a jump for it, then try throwing the tires through the windshield and sunroof. Then they put a brick on the ignition and blow the motor.

A much better video, is where some guys gut an old Toyota Camary, install a bunch of remote controled hydrolic controlls, and make the car remote controlled. They drive it around in the desert to the Knight Rider theme music and jump it off of a huge hill doing about 60mph. Now that is a cool video.

I watched the first street racing chronicles, and it was a waste of time. It took forever to download, and was 6 minutes of nothing. They made a big deal about the video being fake, but they didn't do anything, or even catch anything even close to illegal on film.

Here is the R/C Camry video. Enjoy.

Cameron, have you ever been to the track? If so, what did you trap. Also, next time I'm down in east texas or your up in my neck of the woods, we can race...and you can see my LS1.
