Re: Post your kills/losses here

All of my races are the stop light drags. I don't do it often and I'm not out looking, but I rarely turn down a worthy challenge. If I had a nickel everytime I somehow get lined up across from someone who wants to give it a go. Of course, my mustang kills are what I'm most proud of!! I paid $1,200 for my Z-28 so always glad to kick the stuff out of a something that cost 30 times more!!

KILLS

Late 80's Mustang 5.0LX

2006 Mustang GT

2003 Corvette

2008 Charger SVT8

2007 or 8 Pontiac GTO

2008 Pontiac G8

BMW M3

LOSSES

Only one, but sadly enough...it was a Mustang. I'll attribute this to operator error though...I missed third gear!!
1993 GT 5.0

------------------------
I made the following upgrades:
383 Stroker/air gap intake/600 cfm Edelbrock performer carb
(420 hp/460 ft-lbs torque)
Headers 1 5/8" primaries, 3" collectors, 3" exhaust to 3 1/2" tips
4.10 gears with stock T-5 manual tranny; monster tach/shift light
some Fiberglass body parts
Dry weight roughly 3,000 lbs

Re: Post your kills/losses here

hate to admit it but I been getting my butt handed to me about 50/50 in the local naturally aspirated drag class. I beat a fox body his buddy beats me... i have the quickest losing time, i run and the guy has a AMC with BB chevy...

I probably lose more races than most of you guys, not to say i don't win a few too, that's just the way racing goes.
this is by no means a full account just some highlights.
Wins-
2006 Hemi Ram single cab, he had some major top end on that thing I was shocked
70's Nova at local drag, really close race he got the drop and i realled him in
Fox body, aren't they all the same? LOL
86 Ranger with a 6 cyl, haven't seen the truck since, maybe it blew up
99 stang 6banger with a chick driving, should have let her win
00 mustang unknown, we backed out at 145mph
2007 toyota Yaris, my mom likes to race
85 Camaro with a 355, mild cam and a jack$%% driving it
74 Chevy truck with no bed on it.... not the best drag set up.
Dodge Neon, that was so much fun and it was in a 45mph so we dropped to ten and raced to 50, he almost had me....
Unsaid police unit, my tires chirped shifting at an intersection and he lit it up and turned like i had a bazooka hanging out my window... so i parked behind a church. and prayed.

Losses'
Kentucky State Police, 650 dollars for a main street drifting course, and a burnout at every light, had traction bars that needed testing. I wasn't running just didn't notice him. oh yes, he got me in the end.
Durango... got ahead then my car died, restarted and left in shame (timing was a bit off)
one mad dog Chevelle "as a general rule, if they yank the front tires I'm wasting my time"
1980's Chevy Truck black primer with a Cam that rocked my world
Fox body, it was within a length the whole race back and forth

Funnest Loss by .03 seconds
Newer 4th gen T/A my g'f was driving my car, his wife driving his (unknown bolt ons, the first time she'd driven my car at all as well) she forgot to stall it up LOL

Re: Post your kills/losses here

I have very few races I have ever really done. I tend to not show off and challenge people. The closest I will ever come if I see a potential opponent is riding along side them letting them know I'm there, but you have to initiate it. If someone challenges me, that's a different story. I have probably simply driven away from many potential races because I either simply didn't notice them or had the stereo too loud to hear them making a racket.

WIN:
Some riced out POS with a fartcan. I believe it was a ford focus. The funny part was I didn't even know he was trying to race until we left the stop light and I noticed him aggressively moving out in front of me. I thought it was funny as hell when I pushed the throttle to 1/2 and walked all over him.

LOSSES:
1) C5 corvette. OK, I kept up with this guy by 1/2 a car but right before he went to make his turn he downshifted and jerked in front of me by a few feet so I know he could've really put me to shame if he wanted.

2) 4th gen Camaro. This guy HAD to have had an LS1. I raced him from a 70MPH rolling start on the freeway, and it was like the hand of god pushed his car down the road at 120MPH. All I saw was taillights.

Re: Post your kills/losses here

In the early '90's I had a 2.8 Camaro with 27000 miles on it and that thing got it's a$$ kicked by a early '90s Escort GT. Even more embarassing than the time I got drunk and.............oh wait nevermind!

Re: Post your kills/losses here

kills:
too many camrys & civics
late '90s/early 2000s camaro... it was turbo'd or supercharged. the guy was just an idiot. (he had CHERRIES hanging from his rearview!)
early 2000s mustang GT & V6s
3rd gen camaro RS
04 monte carlo LS & SS
early 90s dodge mini van (i don't know what this guy was thinking, but he wanted to race!)
06/07 subaru impreza

that's all i can think of at the moment...

fails:
my boyfriend's 06 mustang GT (yes, we have the chevy vs ford argument ALL the time!)

& Ward... i used to own a '98 regal. i'll admit, many buick owners are retards. but, there are some out there that are just like i was... a buick owner who wished they were a camaro owner.

LOL some old lady in a chevy mailbu, wtf was she doing racing?

I'm not sure if we're thinking of the same sentras but my sister's ex boyfriend had one of those sentras that had a red R on the right rear of the trunk. It was a six speed, it was FAST.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure our cars could take the v6 fourth gens until they upgraded the v6 to a 3.8 in like '98 or something.

Re: Post your kills/losses here

Not driving a 3rdgen, but I do have 1 kill.

Fairly new Ford Explorer from about 30 mph, he floored it, and decided why not, so I dropped into 1st and just pulled away.

Now that may not seem like much, but I'm driving a 31 foot motorhome! I think he was a bit surprised.

Re: Post your kills/losses here

Here's the sorriest kill ever. So I'm going to work in my maro. The car is basically open manifolds (don't rail on me i'm poor) so there's like no bottom end. This dude pulls up in this beat up 80's accord spray painted lime green. It was so sorry looking, he even painted the rust holes. Anyway, he revs his fart can at me and i chuckle and rev back (even though i wasn't to sure if i could take him or not). There was a decent amount of traffic but all suddenly disapeared so I said what the hell. Well the light goes green I nail and just walk him, i was so surprised. His car must have seriously been about to die, cause he definitely had a big weight advantage. So he comes up at the next light and starts talking trash about my music (Nirvana, the whole heroin adict thing) and wants to go again. Same thing happened twice, it was quite sad.
