I got a ticket where the cop said I was going 90 but I wasnt, I know for certain I never went over 85, I was glancing down every few minutes and never saw it over 85, or near 85 for that manner.

The cop said she had paced me, she did NOT use radar. I was at all times following at a safe distance behind the rest of the traffic, about 2 cars length, and keeping speed with the rest of them.

I had a passenger that confirmed there was no way I went over 85, and this is on the heavily racially profiled NJ Turnpike. What do you think this is all about?

2 things from my expeirences

1) when the pigs pull you over, turn off the car and put the keys on the dash...this is major brownie points to them. Also, if you can pull off the road into a parking lot..they like that too.

2) that "taking apart" the radar..escort makes one for 600 bucks that is just that. The detector sits behind your grill i believe, and then there's a face plate that you mount in your car in the dash. Looks like a nice unit

GET OUT OF TICKET INFO

Im 19 and ive been driving since i was 16 in a firebired now i have 87 GTA. Throughout this time ive gotten probably about 20-25 tickets, thats including speeding, unsafe lane change, following to closely, unsafe tires, ive gotten the whole book thrown at me pretty much. Thats not to bad considering 2 summers ago when i first got my GTA i got pulled over about 3 times a week but never got a ticket My key to getting out of tickets or getting them reduced is just plee not guilty then they will almost always drop it to parking tickets and driving school. Im a criminal justice major in college so i know what the cops can and cant do this gets me out of a lot.

TIP#1: what one guy said before take out the keys and turn the car off. they like that

TIP#2: Turn your dome light on they like to see what your doing makes them more comfortable. One cop told me this and let me go cause i did

TIP#3: Help a cop out anytime you can most of the time they will ask your name and say thanks, give you a business card sometimes, these work good for getting out of tickets
ONE TIME I PULLED A COPS CAR OUT OF THE SNOW DURING THE WINTER TOLD ME IF I EVER GET PULLED OVER TO TELL THEM WHAT I DID. GOT ME OUT OF ABOUT 5 TICKETS

TIP#4: If you do get a ticket then plee not guilty if you live in a big city most likely almost 100% of the time the cop wont be there and if you say the cop was acting unfarly they ask if you want to take it to court. This dont always work but most of the time if you live in a big city and the cops are busy with other stuff there not going to show up to court for some minor traffic ticket. THEN YOUR CHARGES ARE DROPPED IF HE DONT SHOW UP

Here's one go to your town hall or their town hall and ask for a copy of the calibration of the radar gun. Law says it has to be calibrated once every 6 months, the other ask if the road was ever surveyed for radar you may be able to fight it....

i thought i would add my story, well stories...
first time was when the fast and the furious came out... me and a friend started to race up and down a open strech of high way. we went the whole distance of the road, and then we stopped at a 7/11 to talk about how bad i killed him. anyway my friend that was in teh car with me said that he forgot his glasses back at the movie theater and wanted to see if we could go pick them up. well i got back in my car and started to fly back across this very road.... im cruzin along and all of a sudden i see lights... was caught doin 88 in a 50 (yea, but better then if he caught me at 110-120 about an hour earlier) anyway, i got out of the ticket thanks to a lil thing called a PBA card. But i got hit up with falure to submit papers cause i didnt have my new insurance card with me.
About 3 days ago i was on the same road. I was cruzing and i felt my car kinda stumbling and it felt blocked... i got worried... i pressed on the peddal and it went away, but i was flyin by now i guess... i look up and coming the other way was a big suburban cop truck... and as i past him i looked back and saw him pull a u turn right in the middle of the road... i slowwed down and then pulled over to the side... he came up to my window, told me i was doing 87 in a 50. I gave him another PBA card (that was from 2002) with the rest of the stuff. he asked me who the guy was on this card, i told him my uncle and then he asked for his name. Well i didnt know it so i made it up and i was wrong... well he told me to have my "uncle" call him or he was gunna mail me the ticket... well i was on the phone asap... i got out of that one too
The funny thing about the 2nd time is that when the cop passed me, he was #1 up a van's a$$, and #2 i had my radar detector on (cobra 9 band) and i got no warning what so ever.... i felt that was ... i knew i was going fast, but i was not going over 80mph... sorry for the length.. thought this would be a fun story for people to read

A few weeks back i fought and won my first ticket......

The cop heard some tires squeeling and looked over and saw me in the parking lot and pulled me over for it (i swear it wasnt me) i said that was bs and i fought it and won so easy

you cant smoke your tires on that parking lot cuz its covered in pete rock (kinda like gravel)......so many ppl complained about that cop and his bs that he quit the force and went somewhere else after that

OK, maybe i missed it but........

join the
National Motorist Association.

i just joined a few weeks ago. they do good work and they will help show you how to fight tickets.

they are also working to get rid of the red light camers and various other dumb traffic laws.

kinda like the NRA just for cars.

i cannot remember the web site but just to a search they are easy to find.

heck you get a magazine and email updates it's great.

do it today.....
the liscense you save may be your own

I would suggest going and asking for a continuance. I would suggest calling the clerk of court's office and asking the best way to go about doing this. Here it's pretty automatic until about the third time then you better have your ducks in a row.

You may also want to look into the National Motorist Association and see what they have to offer.

Best wishes!

Re: Legal advice after getting a ticket.

So I just got a ticket in TN, and I hate to go way back and ask about a post that happened back in 02, but where is the Court Docket number and the Prosecuting agency on the ticket? Is the prosecuting agency just the county where I got the ticket?

Re: Legal advice after getting a ticket.

Call the court house in the country where you got the ticket. They should be able to tell you what you need to know. In the mean time I would recommend contacting some attorneys in the area for pricing and options. Anything is better than paying it off and eating the insurance for 3 friggin years.
