Hey, I'm John from Hamilton. I've been to a dyno session and a getogether cruise and met a few fellow thirdgenners.

It's always cool to be around a bunch of cars similar to your own.

Hey, my name is Colin, and I live in Ottawa (not by choice :P ) Im an doing a Bachelor of Industrial Design, so I can do all of that cool Chip Foose drawing stuff (Well maybe not quite that good, but he's got a 20 ish year head start on me :P) If any of you want a concept drawing of your project, lemee know. I used to have an account here (colinfinkle, I think) but I came back and lost the password for that account, so made this one.

With the degree and all, it is hard to get out to my old house in the South of Ottawa to work on my car, but if I get around to it I would like to build it into a mild pro touring car. Something with a semi custom paint job, 500 flywheel torque, and the fattest meats I can get under it on all 4 corners :P Okay... maybe a little lofty goals, but you have to dream! I also would like it to loose a bit of wieght and grow a roll cage. All in time.

Anyway, I have been a fan of the site since I was in High School, and the Ontario board is the tip of te iceberg.

Hi. i am Brad. I am a friend of Jay's. I have meet a bunch of you before. I stopped posting on this site cause i was too busy and then i moved. The new place didnt have the internet till now.

anyway, i am 23.....i am a hick and i have a university degree. I work at a barbeque and fireplace shop here in London. I fix stuff, sell stuff, and deliver stuff.

Other than that i play alot of poker at the casino, which essentially pays for all my car parts and many of my other expenses.

i have an 84 TA with T-Tops, which always looks like garbage and is generally quite slow (13.6 @ 101).

i also have an 83 Camaro hardtop V6/5spd and a 98 Cavalier 2.2L/5spd. I have been modding cavalier with a few performance tricks, but nothing that makes it look or sound like an import piece of junk. its a great winter/daily car and has some decent get up and go (for what it is) now that i have tweaked it.

anyway, no one cares about the V6 or the cavalier.....

The TA has:

1 - 350 w/ 4 bbl. quadrajet, edelbrock performer intake, 461 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, 1 5/8" hedman hedders, comp xtreme energy cam, 10.5 to 1 compression

1- home built/hacked together dual snorkel air cleaner

1 - one set of true 2 1/2" dual exhaust with an H-Pipe

2 - hooker aerochamber mufflers

1 - 700R4 with 2700 rpm stall converter, 270 000 kms, and approx 150 drag strip passes

1 - set of 4.11 rear gears

several - weight reuction modifications and tweaks done by me

all - emissions equipment removed by me

0 - brakes. this is less than ideal, seeing as i had to drive it 20 km with no brakes. powerslot rotors, hawk pads, and delco durastop calipers are in my closet

By the way, Richard.....that is a beautiful piece of machinery. good buy.

Hey guys,

Name is Mike. I live in Richmond Hill and am a certified Camaro junkie. I often wonder as time has passed about all the property i could have owned if I wasn't so hooked on f-bods I can still recall with perfect clarity the first third gen I ever saw. There was a billboard on Major Macenzie right at Newkirk ( where the go train station is now ) It was a cool shot of the "New" Camaro in fall of 81 and of course it was an 82. Lemme tell ya for anyone who remebers that body style debut it was as cool as a Ferarri and the buzz was insaneo. I always loved Camaro's and bought my first one in grade 8 from a friends Mother who cooked the engine ( 78 ) and I have owned at least one ever since. It is the styling of the third gens I like best though. Plus the handling always turned me on so more of a road guy than drag but any form of speed is good.

Anyways I have two third gens. An 87 that has been built and torn down more times than I can recall. In the midst of LS1 swap right now. Finding it hard to have the balance of enough dough and enough time to complete. Story of all our lives I'm sure. I also have an 89 R7U 1LE ex Players car. Its been street driven since its race days and is in need of a resto but its all there and runs great and is by faaaaaar the fastest 305 I have ever been in which is kinda cool. I dont know if i have met any of you or not but i frequent the Thornhill cruise and drive my 87 around all over the place and usually get enthusiastic thumbs up from any other third gens that pass. I'll try and get out to some events but summer is busy season and i travle alla time.

and mike from richmond hill..

same thing, i dont know how i could have missed your ride...you are like 30 mins from me..

anyways, im gerry, and i have argueably the most talked about (beit good and bad) thirdgen on any of the camaro sites.

It stems mostly from my love of all cars and modifying as whole and my past ownership of a custom shop that dealt with modifying moreso the imports and smaller compacts.

Fully customed car, including the front bumper from a prelude, side skirts from a cavalier, rear bumper cover from a celica gts. side marker lights, full air ride suspension, full eclipse sound system including two 7 inch tvs, mustang altezza tail lights and a ss hood

The motor has minor tweaks but since its more of a show car, i didnt and dont think i need to put all that much money into the motor.

Im hoping to be out to some of the events although more then likely with the new project ( 2001 neon le) as the iroc is in semi retirement until i get enough money to do the motor and the transmission to pull it up to par with the rest of the look of the outside.

Hi all!

My name is James and I live in Thornhill. I have an 88 T/A.

It hasn't been really driven in three years (got married three years ago). I think I've seen a few thirdgens that belong to the guys that posted earlier that live near me.

I'm also the offical BBQ cook/chef for this group

Looking forward to the next outing and meeting the new members and reuniting with the old

Better late than never,

I'm Scott, previously I had an '89 Trans Am WS6 which is where the name comes from. A couple of years ago I picked up an '87 Iroc which is the current ride.

I have met a lot of you at various meets or buying/selling parts, etc.

Currently the Iroc is undergoing all new paint and having the door handles shaved. Then it will be time to install the 383 stroker that has been waiting in my garage since December. By springtime it should have lots of show and lots of go.

I hope to see you all when the weather gets nice.

Scott

Hey guys, I'm 34, live in Hamilton (originally from Sudbury area) and I have an 86 Z28 that I picked up in Utah off the Cars For Sale on this board. See here for details: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...=twisted+wedge

I see alot of Hamiltonian's posting in here which is cool. Do any of you go to the meets at Wagners beach in the summer?

Anyhow, future upgrades to the car;
->Lunati Voodoo Roller cam
->Spohn Crossmember & torque arm, subframe connectors, boxed LCA, & LCA relocators..All those I already bought, just need to install.
->J&J Street/Strip QJet
->Random Tech exhaust
->Sunset Orange metallic paint
->3" Jongbloed hood
->1-3/4" headers if I come by a set of good used ones.

I'll be doing some drag racing at TMP this summer, and also some Solo 1 & 2 (if I can get into a class without further mods).

Were you at the TFBM autocross last summer when they ran it on the southside. The course layout is a lot better on the north side which is where they usually run. The events should be better this year as we are getting new timing equipment which should result in more runs for everyone although I'm useless at autocross no matter how many runs I get..lol

I remember seeing your car.

My car wasn't there and I left after about half an hour - I brought my truck just to drop of some of the cones that I had from the previous event - usually a few people split them up and take them home so one guy doesn't get stuck having to store them all.

That course was too tight for our cars - the northside is a lot better and we usually have some good open courses for the big cars.

If you start modding the car try and keep it in 3SS which has a good PAX for thirdgens. I ended up in Street Prepared by one point which makes me the slowest car in the fastest class - one of the reasons why I prefer road coarses to autocross..lol

Here's some pictures from last year. They have the dates for this year although I don't know if they've been posted. First one is usually $20 for club members.

Car: 88 camaro iroc-z
hey all... some great cars you guys have. My names Chris, i'm 20 and live in markham

picked up a '88 camaro last summer (in my sig). I love the look of the third gens. I haven't been out to any of the meets yet but I plan to come on some cruises this summer.

with the stock 305, very limited spare cash and almost no mechanical knowledge i'm not an avid track go-er however I do love camaros and look forward to seeing the rest of yours.

Wow, I can't believe how many replies to this thread. Must have been a good idea....lol Now, if we can only get a meet sometime this summer. It would be cool if we could get a large turn out.

Sorry i just got your question, my car was apart when i met up with some of the board members here so i did not dyno that day, but without the S\C it made 290rwhp & 355 lb, that is with my old 700r4 and it was slipping like a B***H. I am still working out the bugs hopefully i will be done this soon.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm Jeff I'm 23, I live in Fort Erie. I've owned my 87 GTA for about 5 years. I love thirdegen Firebirds and Camaros they are my favorite car to drive and work on. Unfortunately my car hasn't seen the road since 2003. But it's all coming back together for this season.

Dan here from Woodbridge, near Wonderland - South of Major Mac West of Weston Rd.
Bought my car 5 years ago when I was looking for a Neon kind of car, you know, small tires, easy on gas etc. Went out with my buddy to wash his car and decided to check out this dealer he'd noticed a while back just to kill some time. An hour later I put down the deposit and a few days later I was the proud owner of a '91 RS. I didn't have any money after that for a long time but I don't regret getting the RS at all, every time I drive it, it puts a smile on my face and it beats the **** out of a Neon.
Anyone near me? Where do you guys hang out? Any meets coming up this summer?

Hey Dan , Mark from Brampton , Glad to here about the RS , You should meet up with us some time and stay out of Weston & Hwy 7 area , it's all trouble up there.

We attend a classic car show which we have our own section there every Sat at the Canadian Tire at Hwy 427 & queensway ( Just east of Hwy 427 on the Queensway)

Post some pics up if you have a chance .

Mark

Mark,
I've been to that show many times, and I don't think I ever saw a thirdgen F-body section? Was I blind or what?

Mark, I'll have to meet up with you guys. I'm really busy for the next few weeks but things should calm down mid June.
What time do you usually get together? I checked out your site but there is no time for weekend meets.

Dan
