Thnx for the top Hawk. I'll check that.

Put over 100 miles on it yesterday. Ran perfectly. No Idiot light. This chapter of the story might be over!

Nope. I hadn't actually gotten around to that yet but it was on my list of things to try had I still gotten the code. So far it's day 3 and we've put probably 300 miles on the car and no idiot light. It seems to be running perfectly well so I think I'll leave it alone at this point. I do have to admit the Holley was as smooth an installation and performs perfectly.

Met a few other hot rod guys (68 Shelby, 64 Buick Wildcat, 85 Z28) and they all commented on how nice it was to see an '87 that hadn't been all hacked up. What they don't know won't hurt me! *wink*

Next job, outer window sweeps then I gotta fix the heat selector thingy.

Standby....

no prbolem, the only reason I knew to look was someone else I knew had that issue with the Holley TB, so I looked and was rather annoyed to find mine loose too. Easy fix, but could of been very very bad.

Well it's always better to be cautious. I appreciate the tip. It's all buttoned up and looks good. Best part is it seems to be working perfectly.

The Idiot Light is back. Now I'm scratchin' my head. Back to the diagnostic charts again.

I tried that and it works. Idiot light comes on but no "limp home" mode so the car was still driveable.

Had a nice night out last night.....

MOE Smog Patrol checked me out on Blockhouse Island in Brockville. They were pulling all older cars over. A guy in a mustang was getting the third degree ahead of me and didn't look too happy. I had no problem at all. I do have to admit the kid that was checking out my car knew his stuff.

I'm glad you're work'in out the glitches! The "MACHINE" is looking GREAT! I've been busy doing a few automotive bodywork contracts out of town, to help finance my "winter" build,....it was intended to be started this summer....but, that's all i've been able to do...start it! You were right about one thing though,... I do believe we're a big chunk in the "money" gathering department of all Ontario/Canadian businesses selling 3rd gen. camaro parts! ....p.s.(I have now accumulated, $2635.00 worth of parts...and still believe this is only about 5% of what will be required!!!). Anywho... are you still going forward with that nice "winter boat project,...with the length extention and such?...keep us posted and enjoy that ride.

Hey Dodgy. Wondered where you got off to.

I'm pretty much done buyin' parts for the car. Other than I might need a heater box thingy that's it for now. Making the switch back to boat parts. Just picked up a real nice set of seats for the boat.

We spent the whole day out on the boat today. What an absolutely great day. Two in a row!

The boat we want to build will be about 31' long and 10' wide. It'll weight about 11000 lbs and need a 40 hp diesel to run it at 7 kts. (7.7 mph). Definitely not a speed demon hence the need for the IROC to satisfy those requirements!

Keep us posted on your project too!

Re: My project has begun....

So we go to the local car club cruise night. Met up with an ole' buddy from back in the day when we both had 340 Dusters. He just took delivery of his '09 SRT8 Hemi Challenger 6 speed! Black pearl. Nice!!! So he says "sit in it" so I hesitate a bit and sit in it. He jumps in the passenger seat and says "push in the clutch and push the button on the dash". So I do. Purrrrrrrr. Nice.

So he says "Drive it". I said "What?". "Drive it!" Ok. Putter out of the parking lot and drive it normally up the road a half mile or so. I'm shaking. I haven't driven a $60K car, ever. He says "Stand on it!" "Uh?" He says "Let her go!" So I back out of the driveway I turned around in and immediately stall it!

"Hammer it!" He says! So what the hell not every day you get a chance to hammer the sh*t outta a 6.1 lt 425 HP Hemi! All I got to say is "WOW!" Somehow now the ole' IROC seems just a little.... hmmmmm? Inadequate?

Wow! I'm still shakin'!

Making horsepower is just a matter of money! Send some on over!

Actually this car is just about done. A few minor things. Time to move onto building a boat.....

Too cold to get this to stretch out properly. No biggie almost time to tuck the car away for the looooooooong cold winter!

For something that's been sitting in someone's garage for 20 yrs it sure was in good shape! We have a bug here, shadfly, that makes driving your car almost impossible w/o one of these!

I'll store it indoors. The fairgrounds near here have lots of exhibition sheds they rent out for car & boat storage. It's easy & cheap. $150 for the whole winter vs a "u-store-it" which are that much per month.

The contingent from the Hwy 43 Car club. Ignore the Escape that was the Web Guy/Photographer!

ProCharged Pro Street Duster. Nothing subtle about his fella! Impressive.

Drew a lot of looks.

Can't remember what this was, a Renault maybe. Cute!

Cool Rat Rod.

Nice pics! ...just checked out your new car "BRA"...it'll look better when you put it on next season in the hot sun. I've tried a few of those...it takes heat, stretching and patience to get it right. (I never did get 1 to look quite 100% though). *P.S. just about done the rocker replacement on the wifes Grand Prix,..and with a nice long, cold Canadian winter in the forecast,..I went out and got a black '95 Dodge ram ext.cab/shrt box 4x4 to play with.

We're all done now for the season. I know you guys down south will say "What season?" Well we get lots white fluffy stuff on the ground over the winter and IROC's suck in the winter! Time to tuck the toys away for 6 months while it's dark 24 hrs a day! *sigh*

Last run was Sunday to Calabogie MotorSports park. Couldn't do the parade laps 'cause the ole shitbox started pissin' anti-freeze!

Just a lil' update as to what we've been up to. The IROC is all wrapped up for the winter! *sigh* That sucks.

Last week the wife and I went to Rhode Island (1200 mi round trip) to pick up a diesel engine for the boat we're building. On the way back we stopped at Orange Country Choppers.....

Cool place. Souvenirs weren't overly expensive either. Rest of the pics are here....

Yeah Canadian winters...everyone figures we just put our "Camaro's" in storage and hibernate until spring time, up here in the "GREAT WHITE NORTH". WE JUST MOVE ONTO DIFFERENT PROJECTS! Good to hear that you two have found a nice engine for the new "BOAT PROJECT". Since it's the end-of season for us Canadians here on 3rd gen..how bout post'in some EISEL BOAT MOTOR" pics for everyone to drool over. I've gone out and got me a 1995 Dodge Ram Sport 1500-4x4 SLT Laramie to play with this winter, (just swapped the whole front end steering linkage out, all 4 ball joints...that was FUN!, rotors, pads, drums, and shoes... windshield.. maybe that's why I got it fot $1200 CAN. $$ ? Have a great winter, (boat project), and post every month JUST to tell us you haven't fallen victim to a rudely, awoken "Canadian BEAR"!!!
