Thnx for the top Hawk. I'll check that.

Put over 100 miles on it yesterday. Ran perfectly. No Idiot light. This chapter of the story might be over!

Nope. I hadn't actually gotten around to that yet but it was on my list of things to try had I still gotten the code. So far it's day 3 and we've put probably 300 miles on the car and no idiot light. It seems to be running perfectly well so I think I'll leave it alone at this point. I do have to admit the Holley was as smooth an installation and performs perfectly.

Met a few other hot rod guys (68 Shelby, 64 Buick Wildcat, 85 Z28) and they all commented on how nice it was to see an '87 that hadn't been all hacked up. What they don't know won't hurt me! *wink*

Next job, outer window sweeps then I gotta fix the heat selector thingy.

Standby....

no prbolem, the only reason I knew to look was someone else I knew had that issue with the Holley TB, so I looked and was rather annoyed to find mine loose too. Easy fix, but could of been very very bad.

Well it's always better to be cautious. I appreciate the tip. It's all buttoned up and looks good. Best part is it seems to be working perfectly.

I tried that and it works. Idiot light comes on but no "limp home" mode so the car was still driveable.

Had a nice night out last night.....

MOE Smog Patrol checked me out on Blockhouse Island in Brockville. They were pulling all older cars over. A guy in a mustang was getting the third degree ahead of me and didn't look too happy. I had no problem at all. I do have to admit the kid that was checking out my car knew his stuff.

Waitin' in line for the ferry.

Gettin' loaded up on the ferry.

I'm glad you're work'in out the glitches! The "MACHINE" is looking GREAT! I've been busy doing a few automotive bodywork contracts out of town, to help finance my "winter" build,....it was intended to be started this summer....but, that's all i've been able to do...start it! You were right about one thing though,... I do believe we're a big chunk in the "money" gathering department of all Ontario/Canadian businesses selling 3rd gen. camaro parts! ....p.s.(I have now accumulated, $2635.00 worth of parts...and still believe this is only about 5% of what will be required!!!). Anywho... are you still going forward with that nice "winter boat project,...with the length extention and such?...keep us posted and enjoy that ride.

Hey Dodgy. Wondered where you got off to.

I'm pretty much done buyin' parts for the car. Other than I might need a heater box thingy that's it for now. Making the switch back to boat parts. Just picked up a real nice set of seats for the boat.

We spent the whole day out on the boat today. What an absolutely great day. Two in a row!

The boat we want to build will be about 31' long and 10' wide. It'll weight about 11000 lbs and need a 40 hp diesel to run it at 7 kts. (7.7 mph). Definitely not a speed demon hence the need for the IROC to satisfy those requirements!

Keep us posted on your project too!

Re: My project has begun....

So we go to the local car club cruise night. Met up with an ole' buddy from back in the day when we both had 340 Dusters. He just took delivery of his '09 SRT8 Hemi Challenger 6 speed! Black pearl. Nice!!! So he says "stand in it" so I hesitate a bit and sit in it. He jumps in the passenger seat and says "push in the clutch and push the button on the dash". So I do. Purrrrrrrr. Nice.

So he says "Drive it". I said "What?". "Drive it!" Ok. Putter out of the parking lot and drive it normally up the road a half mile or so. I'm shaking. I haven't driven a $60K car, ever. He says "Stand on it!" "Uh?" He says "Let her go!" So I back out of the driveway I turned around in and immediately stall it!

"Hammer it!" He says! So what the hell not every day you get a chance to hammer the sh*t outta a 6.1 lt 425 HP Hemi! All I got to say is "WOW!" Somehow now the ole' IROC seems just a little.... hmmmmm? Inadequate?

Wow! I'm still shakin'!

Making horsepower is just a matter of money! Send some on over!

Actually this car is just about done. A few minor things. Time to move onto building a boat.....

Too cold to get this to stretch out properly. No biggie almost time to tuck the car away for the looooooooong cold winter!

For something that's been sitting in someone's garage for 20 yrs it sure was in good shape! We have a bug here, shadfly, that makes driving your car almost impossible w/o one of these!

I'll store it indoors. The fairgrounds near here have lots of exhibition sheds they rent out for car & boat storage. It's easy & cheap. $150 for the whole winter vs a "u-store-it" which are that much per month.

The contingent from the Hwy 43 Car club. Ignore the Escape that was the Web Guy/Photographer!

ProCharged Pro Street Duster. Nothing subtle about his fella! Impressive.

Drew a lot of looks.

Can't remember what this was, a Renault maybe. Cute!

Cool Rat Rod.

Nice pics! ...just checked out your new car "BRA"...it'll look better when you put it on next season in the hot sun. I've tried a few of those...it takes heat, stretching and patience to get it right. (I never did get 1 to look quite 100% though). *P.S. just about done the rocker replacement on the wifes Grand Prix,..and with a nice long, cold Canadian winter in the forecast,..I went out and got a black '95 Dodge ram ext.cab/shrt box 4x4 to play with.

We're all done now for the season. I know you guys down south will say "What season?" Well we get lots white fluffy stuff on the ground over the winter and IROC's suck in the winter! Time to tuck the toys away for 6 months while it's dark 24 hrs a day! *sigh*

Last run was Sunday to Calabogie MotorSports park. Couldn't do the parade laps 'cause the ole shitbox started pissin' anti-freeze!

Just a lil' update as to what we've been up to. The IROC is all wrapped up for the winter! *sigh* That sucks.

Last week the wife and I went to Rhode Island (1200 mi round trip) to pick up a diesel engine for the boat we're building. On the way back we stopped at Orange Country Choppers.....

Cool place. Souvenirs weren't overly expensive either. Rest of the pics are here....

Yeah Canadian winters...everyone figures we just put our "Camaro's" in storage and hibernate until spring time, up here in the "GREAT WHITE NORTH". WE JUST MOVE ONTO DIFFERENT PROJECTS! Since it's the end-of season for us Canadians here on 3rd gen..how bout post'in some EISEL BOAT MOTOR" pics for everyone to drool over. I've gone out and got me a 1995 Dodge Ram Sport 1500-4x4 SLT Laramie to play with this winter, (just swapped the whole front end steering linkage out, all 4 ball joints...that was FUN!, rotors, pads, drums, and shoes... windshield.. maybe that's why I got it fot $1200 CAN. $$ ? Have a great winter, (boat project), and post every month JUST to tell us you haven't fallen victim to a rudely, awoken "Canadian BEAR"!!!

Heya Dodgy! Snowing there yet?

Inventory Update:

Delete.....
'99 GMC Jimmy SLT 4X4
'99 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0

Add.....
'07 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara

This isn't the actual Jeep. Just brought mine home last night in the dark so no opportunity for pics. The ole Jimmy was in dire need of some expensive front end repairs and with 340,000 kms on the clock I couldn't see it getting me through the next six years to retardment let alone this winter. So we had to bite the bullet and get ourselves a new (well new to us) SUV. It was nice "Not" having a car payment but whatcha gonna do eh?

Hey! ...nice wheels there Rick! And yes,...we just got a little dusting of snow last night,..but the wind is pretty "chilly" today. *(on my 1995 Dodge Ram Sport 1500-4x4 SLT Laramie), I just finished replacing: 4-balljoints, "ALL" tie rods/front end linkages and sleeves along with a Rancho RS-5000 steering stabalizer shock. NOW,..after swapping out brake drums, shoes, springs; rotors, pads, 1-left rear outer brake line, 1-wheel cylinder, and the master cylinder....I don't have brakes!!, (I just picked up 2-new front brake calipers this morning, old ones' bleeder screws were "SEIZED" on so badly,...even red hot heat and WD-40+ a hammer, wouldn't budge 'em loose!), now I can bleed the brakes and go on with my :EXTENSIVE" safety list: new windshield Monday morning, Tuesday morning, the safety check/ they'll replace my right rear leaf spring pack, (too cold to work outside...garage is full of junk..need to clean out to fit the "Camaro" project in it this winter. Still keeping on with the new boat?

Same to you Dodgy! Hope all is well up there in TB! Got snow yet? Been raining here for the last few days. Makes driving on a skating rink interesting! The new Jeep can handle it though. Having loads of fun with it!!!

Gotta be the ideal vehicle for winter driving when you can't play with your Camaro! Just doing a little research to see what I've got in store for me this spring when I pull the heater core out and replace that. I'm suspecting it's gonna be fun. Also gotta track down some shorts in the electrics. Fun & Games!!!

Anywho, Happy New year fella's. Hope Santa was good to ya all. I got a new GM Camaro ball cap which is very nice and a Hot Wheels key tag! That's pretty much it for the Camaro stuff.

Hey there! ...yeah...I'd say we got a bit of snow,..about 20+cm, (8")...started right on christmas eve..and lasted for 3-1/2 days! Besides shovelling snow,... I've just been playing around with the newly acquired truck. Still need 2U-joints, (front drive shaft), to get 4-wheel drive operational, and a heater core...heats starting to NOT be there,...changed thermostat and "burped" air out of the system,...still not quite up to par. Worse part is,..it was 38 below w/the windchill for 2-weeks before X-mas.(1-day off),..now it's cold again!..-31*C w/wind this morning. Oh well?....anybody got a woodburning stove, (for my garage), FOR SALE?.....

Re: My project has begun....

Yeah I know about wires being hacked up in an F body. I've seen it over the years with my other ones I owned at one time or another( 87 Firebird & 89 Firebird). And guess what? The same again today with the 1986 Trans Am that I bought yesterday! I pulled the stock looking stereo out of the dash to find out why it would power up but not operate... so out of frustrations I just installed a spare Venturer CD player that I have kicking around into my TA this afternoon... at least I can listen to some tunes now in my car. Good Luck with your project.

I hear ya on the nice weather here in Ontario! It is in the 60's down my way also and I've been cleaning up my '86 TA also... I've picked up a spare set of T rooves from work, got some nice front seat covers for now (thanx Walmart!), replaced the upper rear folding seat that was all chewed to pieces (thanx to former owner's dog!), pulled the Venturer CD deck out and installed a 180 watt Aiwa CD deck along with 10" JBL subwoofer in the rear hatch & pulled out a nice selection of 80's rock & metal CDs from my collection in my house... & went for a couple of nice cruises in the old girl.
Life is good...

Re: My project has begun....

Update: R&R'd the heater core & air dist box. Knew this was a bigger job than a DIY'er like myself. Local mechanic did it in 10 hrs and $550! Not a bad deal altogether. Saved me a lot of grief. We now have heat and I can install the hush panels again.

Anybody heard from Dodgy? Maybe he's still frozen up north there in Thunder Bay!

Well,...hello and gooood morn'in everybody.....that was quite the "hibernation"! Spring fever is in the air... and it's time to pull out the machines and start bust'in knuckles and swearing again! "Knotty",..I like the new "JEEP"...color matched with the Camaro....very cool. I have to do my heater core as well..[on the Camaro AND my truck!]. Well,...on a more pleasant note,..I just got myself another toy to play with this summer,...a "2000 Suzuki RM-125" dirtbike,...look out sandpits!..Dodgy's gonna kick some dirt! **Not a bad deal,..engine has been totally rebuilt..brand new crankshaft, connecting-rod, bearings, Wiesco racing piston & ring,...not bad for $1700.00 total. I totally dismantled the bike and am tooth-brushing it to "shine". Rebuilding the carburetor today. Back on the Camaro front,..I'm picking up a 1986 350cid used engine for rebuild next weekend. Finally got the car into the garage and am "stripping" her right down for my total restoration project. [I'll start a thread soon]. So how's life with the new boat project?...you two get the plans started?

Hey Dodgy. Dirt bikes are supposed to be dirty! They wear dirt like a badge of honor!

We scored a great deal on the materials for the hull. We'll be heading to Boston to pick up the kit in mid-June. Should be stitching it all together by Sept or so! Standby....

You know you're havin' a bad day when these guys show up in your dooryard!

No it wasn't the car but the boat. Long story short I messed up. Shorted out the starter solenoid to the block and started a fire on the boat. All I could do was hit it with a dry chem and dial 911!

Thank Gawd the Camaro was safe!

Don't think we'll do anything else to it this year. Floor mats maybe if I can find the right ones. Other than that we're getting ready to build a boat. U?

Friday night car club get togethers have gotten underway. Nice way to spend a night out with the ole' girl(s)!

A new Camaro showed up with this stuffed under the hood! I want one!

Last Friday this Shelby showed up. Now I'm not a Ford guy but this car was amazing! I'd switch loyalties in a heartbeat if I had the resources!

Sorry this pic is so big but I had to keep it that size so you could read it.

Now ya gotta understand that Iroquois Ontario is pretty much the arse end of the world. You guys in CA for FLA won't even pop a woody at the sight of a Lambo & a Ferrari going down the highway but they're rarer than hens teeth up this way!
