Putting it in is pretty straight forward....just the reverse of removing the stock regulator. Adjusting it isn't difficult either but you will need a fuel pressure guage. All you do is hook up your fuel pressure gauge to the pressure valve on the fuel rail, disconnect the vacuum line to the regulator (with the engine running OR just manually jump the fuel pump circuit at the relay or the ALDL) and turn the adjusting screw in to increase pressure and or screw it out to back off pressure. 47 psi is a good number but don't go over 50 or you will learn how to replace the in-tank fuel pump the hard way in short time. To really get the full benefit of fiddling with fuel pressure, you need to get into PROM burning to mess with injector constants...........
Also if you haven't bought one yet, you can easily fab one up yourself with the stock unit, but the cost might approach $2. A member here (MikeInAz) has a webpage for making one. I went that route and saved myself a little cash.

To do it the right way you will need a scanner to read the BLM,
(Block Learn). Start it up and see where the Block Learn is.
You want it at 128 with a warm engine at idle. If it is low you
need to drop the pressure and if it is high you need to raise the
pressure.
128 is the center of the fuel table. Readings above 128 mean the
ECM is adding extra fuel so you need to raise the pressure to
bring the BLM down. Readings below 128 mean the ECM is
taking fuel away so you need to lower the pressure to bring the
BLM up.
When the BLM is at 128 the ECM will be working in the center
of the fuel table as the factory intended and you will not get any
codes.
If you want, you can hook up a fuel pressure guage to see what
your final setting is.

Sorry to jump in on the thread here, but are BLM's at 128 from the factory? If so then installing an AFPR would just keep you at stock pressure and you would see no performance gain? I am going to be installing 26# per hours on my 383 and I am going to be getting chip burning equipment so are there ways to adjust the BLM through chip tuning besides fuel pressure? If so then this would explain how to have BLM's at 128 and still have higher presure for more performance. Like I said sorry to bust in and I know these are pretty broad questions, but any help would be great.

383 rocket bird is right on!! I have seen some documents of increase hp from increasing hte fuel psi, however, I have read some accell info on burning you own chips and they state that fuel psi from stock 43.5-45 is where you get the best spray pattern of the fuel which will result in the best hp.

383 rocket, I too am going to get into proms for that very reason.
The ability to use a larger injector at a stock pressure and be able
to mess with the pulse width to set the BLM along with all the
other cool stuff you can to to a prom.
