runner question,which is best
i know its not a camaro or firebird but i recently installed tpi in my 73 vette almost everythings done but the runners and the fuel pump which ill have that done this week. But the question is which is better slp,as&m,or edelbrocks?Ive built motors with slps already and theyve made great improvement, but this time i want the best i can get and most power. Are as&m that much better for the price. As you can see im my signature what i have done already plus i just got a set of 24 lb injectors too.I have the stock runners on there now but dont even want to start it till i swap them, rather do it right now thenlater on...thanks for any help.

probably the SLP's if you insanely port them out, otherwise the AS&M semi-siamese runners. it really depends what you are trying to do. if you want top RPM power, then the shorter and bigger the runners, the better. stock, AS&M semisiamese satisfy that.

nitrovette,
Chris (74VETTE on corvetteforum) has been telling me about your TPI project for awhile. I see you have it well underway... almost finished it looks like.
I am swapping a ZZ4 into my car with TPI and I bought SLP Runners mostly because I have heard that the aftermarket runners are all fairly similar, and SLP's were the cheapest. I have also heard that if you are goign to buy runners and leave them alone, go with AS&M or Accell. If you are planning on porting them, then the SLP's I bought look like they have a lot of potential.
Chris said that you have a stock TPI system... did you change to an aftermarket intake manifold, or port the stock one? The manifold is the biggest bottleneck/restriction in the system.
I'm interested to see how these swaps work out for us.

hey hows it going chris came by the other day to check it out..the lower intake i spent about 8 hours porting on it and the plenum is ported too...thats why im looking for good runners the stock ones are so restrcitive.I put the fuel pump in the tanklast night and just need to decide on the runners and then im ready to fire it up.I think ill go withthe slp's then and do some porting after i get a couple of runs on it first and see what it does.by the way nice iroc.

I was checking out pats porting job on the plenum and i could see why the friggin thing is soo restrictive. He cut away so much metal it was rediculous.
