Car: Guess
Engine: Crazy 8
Transmission: So close to being a manual I can taste it
If I were you I would take my car back to this clown and make him fix it.
You can set your own timing pretty easily enough, got a timing light? Set the base timing to 6 degrees. Make sure you disconnect the little wire to set timing. Or maybe yours needs to have the ALDL grounded. Use your shop manual to get the specific settings and procedure.
You will need to do a little hunting about that wire to ensure it is a ground. Try to find the other end. If it is a ground secure it between the firewall and the back of the engine. On my 92, there were a few wires that all met at the back of the pass. cylinder head and were connected to the firewall by a piece of strap. I assume yours is similar. Get good clean contacts.
I don't know what to tell you about that coil housing. My stock coil was rivited to the housing. If that guy broke it or loosened, find some bolts, I guess, to tighten it up.
Good luck.
