vortec go fast Question

Hola,
I'm considering on puting some vortec style heads on my 86 IROC. The heads are made by Edlebrock. They are the E-Tec heads. My question is that has anyone done this and if so have you ever had a problem with intake gaskets? THe reason I ask is because they only have 8 bolts that hold the intake down. There are no center bolts like the the older style. Would appretiate any advice or opinions.

Thank you and
*** Bless

just keep an eye on the blts aat about every 60000 or so miles. freinds and family have had antifreeze leaking through the intake gaskets over time they loosen up,unfortinately it mixed with oil.everyone is different about chiecking their oil.me personally i like changing the oil pan gasket at about 24 months or 50000miles.

Edelbrock makes a TPI Vortec base...expensive, but works well. The Vortec's had problems with intake boltslossening up...GM now specifies Loc-Tite on the threads during assembly. For more info on the TPI Vortec base, try http://www.sdpc2000.com
