L69 --> L98 swap
My buddy is going to be swapping the HO305 out of his 86 Monte Carlo SS in favor of a L98-700r4 setup from a 88 Vette.
What I'm curious about is mainly the fuel pump. Is there anyway to retain mech. fuel pump or should we just swap to elect? If elect. what would be the best way to go? Stock-type in tank deisgn, or something external?
Additionally, I dont for see any real problems, but I was wondering if there are any notable differences between the L98's in Vette's and those from F-bodies (other that I think the Vette's had Alum. heads)?
Thank you in advance for any help!

first of all the mech. pump will not push enuf psi. You might get like 8 psi from it but you will need 50 psi luckily you dont have to drop the tank for this, There are a few places you can pick up and In line fuel pump and from there all you do is mount it in the back by the fuel cell befor the filter, another problem may be the actual fuel lines, if it was carb equipped then it will not have high pressure lines from when it comes from the hard line to rubber lines, you can use these off of a vette if still intact, but there are many places to find these. the differences between the vette l98 and the f body one are just as you say they have heads that are 58cc combustion chambers and aluminum (very good heads and easy to port). Other than that The differences would only be the ecm and harness but as long as you keep em together your fine. If i remember anything else ill hit you up.
