Weird, Stumbling

Okay, today my car did it again... once in a while it seems to run strange, not so much run strange, but I get strange smells, sorta like a sulfer/egg smell, but also a gas smell, I assume that's rich?

Well anyways I was driving down the road, moderate traffic, so it was kinda stop and go... and I noticed a few times when I was decelerating it made this smell and kind of felt like it was surging.

It did this for quite a while, maybe 20 minutes over 12-15 miles, then I got to my destination and turned it off.

On my return trip it seemed to be running better, although I noticed it was slightly stumbling and bogging when I accelerated from a stop. I was almost back, and I pulled up to a stop sign, about 4 people in front of me and the idle dropped way down, to like 400-450 RPMs and it ran very rough, and smelled really strong, when I pressed the gas to keep it running it bogged then idled up and ran normally over 800 rpms, but as soon as I took my foot off the gas it did it again, it lasted for about 8-10 seconds, over a few revs, then it returned to running normally.

It then ran the rest of the trip normally, then I shut it down for a while.

On my trip home finally, it ran perfectly all the way, (10 miles).

I know it's running rich, because I have run WinALDL on it, and logged some data, it is staying rich a good amount of the time, but for the most part it runs good. Every once in a while it does bog and smell bad, but it really seams rare.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice, I don't really think the bad idle and stumbling are a fuel pump problem, but I am thinking it may be the fuel system, since I have a new coil, module, plugs, wires are fairly new, air filter is pretty new. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge, so I don't know what kind of pressure I'm running, but someone else told me they think my fuel pressure regulator is bad.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any advice.

Egg smell usually indicates catylitic converter problems. (plugged)

Great... that thought passed through my mind, but I sort of disregarded it, since the cat was supposedly about a year old... looks like I need to fix my rich problem, and get a new cat...

The cat may be the reason you are running rich. I would bypass it and see how it scans first. You may not have any other problem.
Good luck

Well It happens I had a hole in my exhaust that needed patching, 3 actually... all after the cat tho (in the I-Pipe), while the guy was making up a new I-Pipe, he looked into the cat and said it was fine, looked almost new inside.

I was wondering what else I could check. It still seems to have a little hesitation, although it seems intermitant... I am going to do some data logging in a bit, and see how it is running in the computer's mind.

Any ideas what could be going on... Maybe I should post my data when I log it.

Okay, got some data... Looks strange to me, and it's still running weird.
Is it me, or is something definetly wrong?

Yellow/Green (AD) = Speed
AE = EGR
Red (AF) = RPMs
Teal (AG) = TPS
AH = INT
Orange (AI) = 02 sensor
AJ = MAT
AK = OLDPA3
Blue AL = BLM

Full log can be seen here.

What's going on, any ideas?
Thanks!

Is it possible if the cat is plugged and smells like rotten eggs that it can make the car run bad???

Rotten egg smell is a high sulphur content in gas. Nothing to do with a plugged cat. Switch to a different brand of gas.

A plugged cat would make a engine stumble at higher than idle rpm's. Might idle fine. Look under the car after a drive acompanied by a stumbling problem. A plugged cat will likely be glowing red.
