TPI Fuel Question
So I just got done repairing some wiring issues on my 88 305 TPI Camaro. Now, the car turns over, and even after sitting it starts and stumbles for a second then turns off. When I turn the ignition on, I don't hear the pump pressurize the lines.
Obviously, this could be one of two things. One, my fuel pump is bad, or two, i still have a wiring issue with the fuel pump.
Now, without having to go through the hassle of pulling the rear and the gas tank, is there any other way to check the fuel pump.
Are there any decent wiring diagrams that show the complete wiring set up for the pump through the car?
I felt that this would be more appropriate in here, then in the wiring forum.

Car: 86 Monte Carlo SS

It also could be the fuel pump relay. The only wiring going back to the fuel pump itself is a brown wire coming off the relay. The other is a ground wire. Nothing is impossible about wiring problems, but highly unlikely. I would check the relay first. It is in the enginebay.

Car: '87 Trans-Am
Engine: LB9 (305 TPI)
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42 or 3.73..figuring it out still
If the relay doesnt engage the pump though, after oil pressure builds the pump should start delivering fuel once it sees pressure. So it would eventually start after cranking for a few seconds to build oil pressure. However, it may flood it a little and thats why it takes a while of sitting and it starts later. My problem was in the relay...I replaced it and it was fine.

The car has not ran in over 2 years by now. After starting it for the first time, it ran for less than 5 seconds, then shut off. After that, it would just crank. When i turn on the igniton, I don't here the pump pressurize the system. If the relay is faulty, then, the pump would have never pressurized the system the first time I started it. Correct? Mabye the car just ran because of whatever may have been sitting in the plenum from sitting over time or whatever.
As for checking fuel pressure, I have to get my hand on a gauge. Theres a valve off one of the rails that should spray gas if I push on it, and there was nothing.
I'll check the relay on Tuesday when Im at the garage. Im hoping that its just something simple such as a relay. I really don't want to go through the hastle of pulling the tank.
