In case vortec tpi base ever come out, help me pick a cam
I figure I'll use these heads since I have them. This will be for my formula. I have the normal bolt ons laying in wait. I will have the vortec tpi base, as&m runners and ported plenum of course. The heads will get screw in rocker studs and spring upgrade. I have a set of 1.6 golds laying around I would like to use since I have them (probably get pushrod holes enlarged as a cheap precaution). That said, I'm looking at compucam 214/220 with .452/.465 lift, I don't want to go to high with the vortec heads and figure this will be fine with the 1.6s. I'll try to squeeze out a vigilante 2800 stall as well, I may try the slp TC also. Any other ideas on a cam ? I've thought about the LT4 hot cam, but .525 is too much for me, maybe the LT4 or ZZ4 and trade my roller rockers for some 1.5s ?

There is a thread right now on the aftermarket parts board about which cam for Vortec heads, go check it out. Also do a search on this board. "What cam should I use?" shows up very often here.
