Might be part of my problem.........your opinions?
Got the new Auto Xray 10110 scanner, went out to the truck first thing this morning, was about 45 degrees out last night. Truck outside. Upon startup, the Manifold Air Temp read 176*.........huh? Might this incorrect reading be partly (or fully) to blame for my poor cold motor drivability issue?
Also, is this controlled by the CTS for the intake? Where exactly is this one? I know where the CTS for the coolant temp is (front of motor under throttle body) but can't readily see the other CTS.
Thanks in advance!

Blazin,
The IAT/MAT sensor is on the underside of the intake plenum (nice location, huh?). If the sensor is truly reporting 176°F, the cold start injector or cold start subroutine will not function.
Tha could be a problem.

all ya have to do is pull off the plenum... its right there on the underside towards the back. no need to remove the runners.

Thanks..........but clue me in one more time here. Do you have to use new 'runner to plenum' gaskets when you do this? Do you have to loosen the runners from the manifold to get the plenum out?

IF it's not a MAF system, and if you don't funk up the gaskets when you take the plenum off, then yes, IMO you can reuse the plenum-runner gaskets (i am on mine). SD cars are not so sensitive to vacuum leaks as to be affected by a miniscule vacuum leak. MAF cars despise any air coming in after the MAF however.
You shouldn't have to loosen the runner-base bolts to get the plenum out.

Thanks Ed. Appreciate your and others' knowledge on this board.
It is a SD system, so as you said, if the gaskets are OK I will re-use. Tackling this one Saturday probably.
