Reworked TPI ECM/Harness or aftermarket?

There are a few people out there offering to rework your TPI Speed Density ECM and harness, ie., Speartech, Inc., to make it more user friendly and swap able.

I am wanting some advise, for a stock TPI to be transplanted into another GM product ('55 Chev), is it better to the stock system reworked, or is it better to purchase an aftermarket system? I'm basically wanting stock performance.

Painless Wiring's systems, for instance, doesn't seem to have a good reputation with Thirdgen members. If there is a better aftermarket system which one may be better for a first time TPI swapper? Thanks for your help.
