Code 43

I have an 88 iroc with a 350 tpi. I've only had it for a few months and am still trying to get it in good shape to drive regularly. I did the cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and filters. I also replaced a few vacuum hoses and sealed up the air inlet. The air inlet was just up against the maf with no seal till this weekend. I wanted to bring the idle down. It ran fine, just had a high idle. After I sealed it up I reset the timing, adjusted the iac, and the tps. My tach always reads really high so I just set the idle by feel and the tps won't go all the way to .54 but its at about .5. Now i've had a code 43 over the last few days. Yesterday it just didn't have any power when i test drove and smelled like something was burning. Today I tried it again and it was fine for 10 minuted or so then lost it's power, the engine light came on, and it smelled like something burning again. The smoke seems to be coming from the exhaust and it was even coming out of my ac vents a little. Any ideas what my problem could be?

EDIT: I figured it out. I ****ed up my timing. Reset it today and it's all good. It was retarded by about 4 degrees or so. Another dumbass mistake by yours truly.
