Fuel Injector Help?

I'm dusting off an old project and also dusting off my old research in my head!

I know fuel injector rating is based off of HP numbers. A desktop dyno said I would be running 425hp and 525ft-lbs. Honestly I think that's pretty optimistic for my mild comp cam, aluminum edelbrock heads, ported TPI lower manifold, siamesed runners, ported and siamesed uppers, and 52mm TB on my 383 project.

That would put my fuel injector requirement around 34lbs.

I found 36lbs here...

But I've been thinking about going with SVO 30lb injectors for budget and more of how I'll use the build. It's not a drag car, just more mild street use and some fun driving on the weekend. I am not building a race car, just something tough, fun, and dependable. Honestly, it probably won't even go on a dyno if I can get a good enough tune by data-logging and figuring it out myself, since there isn't anyone else around that is a good tuner for these cars.

Will this fit just as good as the other ones above?

I'm leaning towards the SVO ones a bit more if their fit and finish is the same, what do you guys think?

Re: Fuel Injector Help?

I would call southbay fuel injectors and see what they recommend. they have all sizes or can make you what you need.

Re: Fuel Injector Help?

Thanks old z mzn. We have a large inventory of new and reman injectors. If he runs around 425-450hp then the 36's will be fine. Or as you mentioned we can always modify a set to accomodate him. It depends on exactly what he is looking to get out of his setup.

Re: Fuel Injector Help?

Thanks for the reply, I could definitely run a set of remans from a reputable company such as South Bay. If you wanted to PM me cost numbers on remans that would be great. What other information would be helpful?

I'm really not trying to get maximum power out of my build, heck even someone might chime in saying I'm not going to break 400hp with my build. I really don't know. A new set of 36lb ones are slightly salty for me right now for this project. I saw people have had good luck running 30lb SVO's, hopefully this thread generates some good input from this great forum
