Prothane Transmission Mount

Help! Can anyone tell me the difference between the height of the Prothane transmission mount a brand new stock mount? I've been getting some weird vibrations that I think are above and beyond what the poly mount should transmit, so I want to machine some spacers. Thanks fellas!

Did the prothane mount have a plate that the instructions said to install? It is called a preload plate or something like that. Its about 1/8" thick.

PROTHANE is the exact same height as stock mount. It is very hard in comparison to a stock rubber mount tho.

ES is the mount with the extra plate that will raise the back of the tranny. Usually leaving that plate out will relieve some of the vibrations. It's a bit softer than Prothane's mount.

If you want a cushy ride, stick with rubber. A 4th gen T-56 mount is all rubber but substantially bigger, but also more $ than a replacemement 3rd gen mount.

Otherwise, look into getting your driveshaft rebalanced and/or live with it.

I noticed a little more vibration at certain RPM wiht the prothan mount from spohn. I actually enjoy it though. Make the car feel much more solid. Besides, it is the exact same height as the stock unit only it won't tear to **** like the stock one.

No, there wasn't anything included with the mount except studs. The reasona I asked was because the original mount is so much thinner than the Prothane mount. Maybe it's just because the original mount was so wasted. It was literally split in half.

Probably, I was just asking about the plate so I could tell you to leave it out. I made the mistake of installing it and had a hellish vibration at about 70mph. It took me forever to pinpoint the problem.
