helpfull-SGI-5 calibration
just wanted to list the calibration i have for my car, a 92 camaro with factory cluster, 3.42s and the t56 swap. the SGI-5c box was easy to install but took me a while to calibrate, hopefully this will save somebody some time.
SGI-5c box
switch positions
1 off
2 on
3 on
4 on
YELLOW wire from origional VSS plug in to output 3
coarse adjustment at 5
fine adjustment at 15

Blast from the past but for future reference this configuration/calibration was spot on for the T56 swap in my 88 GTA.

All my switch positions are set to OFF with my '89 Firebird. Seems there is no consistent answer to that SGI-5 thing. I saw that when I was trying to figure out what to do.
My speedometer is run by OUT4, which is the 4000 pulse per mile square-wave signal that the speedometer requires. Took me all of 2 minutes to calibrate with GPS and somebody in the driver seat pushing buttons.
By the way, the OUT3 that you used is a 8000 pulse per mile AC wave.
