Should I worry about it or no?

So after a get together with a friend I met at a check exchange place that had a third gen camaro. One of his friends wanted to race his stripped hatch with my RS but that aside after it was done when driving home and cruising at a steady rpm the Shift light will come up randomly. Meaning sometimes it will come up and sometimes it won't. Should I worry about it or no? Just weird and never seen it pop up and yes the car is in OD. Everything feels fine but I haven't punched it when it came up to see if it would shift. Since like I said I was just cruising at a steady rpm.

Ill test it some more soon and see how it acts but its weird when I wanted to test to see if it would shift properly, it would shift normally so nothing seems out of place and shifts properly into 3rd.

Should I worry about it? Just weird since I have never seen the light pop up before.

Edit, Yes its a 700R4, it was rebuilt a year ago.

Re: Should I worry about it or no?

I would say it's just a fault with the light or wiring to the light itself

Yeah, you shouldn't even have a functioning Shift light with a 700r4. That light is usually only functional in 3rd gens with a manual trans. If everything is working the way it should, I'd just pluck the bulb for the shift light out since it shouldn't have one in the 1st place with an auto trans.

Ahhh well I recently replaced the bulbs with working ones with the ones I saw that were broken or not bright enough. So who knows.
