Car: 1992 Camaro z28
Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual t5
Bad lock up switch? 700r4

So my car is feeling liek its slipping and when i ratchet it it drives like complete an utter **** and It feels all around slugish if i it it feel like the engines running and trying yet something is holding it back it was never like this before till a few weeks ago when i was on my way from my buddys house just cruising to but i do know the po was a F**king idiot and he installed a lock up switch i think thats what its called could that be it could his wiring have gotten lose somewhere along the line? or could it be my torque converter ( i never use the ratchet shifter to manual shift it i was just testing it that way )

That sums it all up right there.

Switch this F'up lock up switch the other direction and see what happens. At any speed, you should see the rpms decrease when the TC is locked - then you know what way the switch should be for locked and unlocked.

Unless the car has been changed to aftermarket carb, why would anyone rig up a lockup switch - the ECM does that function on it's own. Are you sure it's a lockup switch for the TC, and not a switch for something else?

Slipping is slipping - has nothing to do with the TC. Means tranny is ready for a rebuild, no other way around it.
