1982 4 speed set up cost?

Hi everyone, i have a 83Z that was a/t, i want and may have found a complete 4 speed set up out of a 82 minus the bell. Roughly what is the set up worth? I just dont want to get burned. It has the tranny, clutch fork, zbar, shifter, flywhell, and console plate. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, scott

Not to be harsh but...
I wouldn't bother with the swap if it wasn't going to have overdrive.
A lot of people here complain about the mechanical linkage wearing out.
(don't quote me on this part: ) And I think the T-10 (if it's not a Saginaw) is the small output version - less desirable.

If you're just looking for something to get the car in motion again, go for it but I wouldn't put a lot into buying the parts if they aren't what you ultimately want in the car. I did a hydraulic clutch w/ non-WC T5, then I did mechanical linkage w/ a WC T5, then I made a T56 work w/ the mech. linkage and I'll probably ultimately go hydraulic at a later time... just putting in the car what you really want in the car makes the most sense.

Don't forget you'll need the longer driveshaft. Unless your '83 had a TH200-C.

Re: 1982 4 speed set up cost?

Thanks for the info, i heard that its a bear to find a good zbar or clutch fork. Looks like ill either stay with the 700r4 or upgrade to a wct5 with hydrualic clutch, thanks again. scott
