Car: 94 camaro z28
Engine: lt1
Transmission: 4l60e
Axle/Gears: 3.73
Loud thump when shifting t-5
Ok I just spent 300 dollars on getting a new ring gear that I find out wont last because of the balance plate on the 383 (which I already was told but hoped otherwise), to find that now my trans makes a loud bang when going into 2nd and 3rd. I can feel something moving around down there through the shifter when it does it. This thing has given me nothing but trouble im about to sell the damn thing and start over in the spring with a different third gen.

See if you can jack up the trans and watch the trans mount while you do it. You should be able to tell if its torn by doing that. Mine was bad, but it was an auto, and it made a terrible noise when it shifted out of first. Changed it, and it was fine.

I meant everything I could find down there sorry. I'll Jack it up and look at the trans mount closer again.
