Car: 88 trans am 72 olds cutlass
Engine: soon to be 5.3 455 olds
Transmission: soon to be t-56 2004r
Axle/Gears: 3.23 3.73
th350 upgrade parts
I have swapped a 6.0 ls into my trans am and im going to install a th350 behind and im looking for input as to what parts i need to upgrade to get the best performance from this trans and make it last. Im planning on drag racing as well as driving on the street ocassionlly. Im not interested in a transbrake but i will be spraying the car with a 125 shot. Im looking for recommendations on parts and or manufacturers. Ive been doing some research and figure i need an drum and sprag upgrade but from where and do i just have a better one installed or is this something that has to be done at a specialty shop? Thanks for any insight.

I have the rebuild kit you need for this. TIf you want the direct drum with the 36 element sprag, they go for for $310.00. For street use, I would use the Street/Strip kit that keeps it fully automatic. You can shift it manually when you race it. This keeps it user friendly, instead of user antagonistic.
