Looking for info on 700r4 to t5 swap
Burned up my 700r4 up, looking at swapping to a t5 instead of keeping the auto (weight, cost of maintenance, mostly level of fun to drive). Car is an 87 formula tpi 350 stock block. I'm well aware of the why these didn't come stock, but I still am interested in doing the swap (I don't drag race so not a lot of high rpm clutch dumps would be happening).
Did some searching, but had trouble finding any good threads that detailed the whole process. What I think I know so far is that the torque arm, driveshaft, and cross-member are still usable. I would have to buy the trans, bell housing, clutch and flywheel assembly (heard hydraulic is the way to go, new or used?), and pedals.
I don't know that much about manual cars (never owned one yet), but am keen to learn. If anyone could provide insight on anything else I need to buy/do, any good videos or lessons, or just any information on the subject at all, I would love to hear it.
